Departmental Purpose

The purpose of the Engelhard Volunteer Fire Department shall be to provide emergency and non-emergency fire service response, physical rescue, emergency medical first response, and other duties as possible to those in need, under the authority of and within a territory defined by the County of Hyde, known as the Engelhard Fire Response District. Also, mutual aid to other departments may be provided in accordance with agreements, contracts, and General Statutes. All services shall be provided at levels of care in which members of this organization may be trained, certified, or credentialed by applicable regulatory agencies.
